Lisa
Ann Schreier is the founder of Timeshare Insights (timeshareinsights.com),
a consumer information source serving the more than 3 million
Americans who attend a timeshare sales presentation or “pitch”
annually, as well as the more than 2 million Americans who
already own one or more timeshares. She is the author of two
best-selling books on timeshare---Surviving A Timeshare
Presentation: Confessions From The Sales Table, and
Timeshare Vacations For Dummies. Both books
have been a “hit” with consumers who are confused and angry
by the industry’s outdated sales and marketing techniques.
She
has been featured in the New York Times, Los Angeles Times,
the Chicago Tribune, the Baltimore Sun, Hiatus Magazine WomensWallStreet.com,
Barron’s, the in-flight magazines for Alaska Airlines and
AirTran, on National Public Radio and on over 55 radio interviews
including WOR-AM in New York City, KCMN-AM in Colorado Springs,
WBIX-AM in Boston and the ABC Radio Network in addition to
television appearances on CNBC, WLS and WGN in Chicago and
Penn and Teller’s “Bullshit” on Showtime.
Schreier
has worked in the timeshare industry for more than 7 years
and also served as a contributing writer for The Timeshare
Beat for three years.
Each
semester, both the University of Central Florida and the University
of Nevada-Las Vegas retain Ms. Schreier to speak to their
students enrolled in timeshare classes. In addition Ms. Schreier
is a sought-after speaker for consumer groups, timeshare owners
groups, the travel industry, womens’ groups and senior groups.
She has been a featured speaker at the Miami Herald Travel
Expo in April 2006, at the Chicago Adventure and Luxury Show
in January 2005 and at THETRADESHOW in Orlando. Additionally,
Lisa has taught “Timeshare Secrets” through the Learning Annex
in Minneapolis/St. Paul and at the Alliance for Lifelong Learning
in the Chicago suburbs.
She
is currently developing an informational program about timeshares
aimed at convention attendees and their spouses as well as
co-authoring a college level textbook on timeshares, schedule
to be released first quarter of 2008.

separate the myths from the facts and let consumers make their
own wise choices.
